Expiring software will affect half of all South West businesses…
Companies across the South West are still running Microsoft products such as Windows 7, Office 2010 and Small Business Server 2011. These products will expire in January 2020, leaving their systems open to hackers and malicious software.
Why not find out if your business is affected by arranging a FREE 15 min call with our cyber security expert, Jamie Seviour, at a time that is convenient for you. Access Jamie’s calendar and book a time to suit your diary, and start the process of securing your systems now.
Microsoft’s decision to stop support popular software will affect programs that run your businesses computers and servers, along with programs you use every day to write documents, create spreadsheets and send emails.
So how do you know if you have any of the software mentioned above installed?
Simple! Book a time in my diary for us to come and preform a no obligation survey
I am sure you all still remember the panic back in May when the new GDPR (Data Protection) laws came into effect. If you continue to run any of the software mentioned above after it becomes unsupported you will be in breach of the GDPR regulations as they state “companies must only use fully supported software”. Not a big issue in itself, but if you sustained a data breach (which will be more likely running unsupported software) then the Information Commissioners Office will use this to build a case against you.
So what action do I need to take?
I am sure you are reading this thinking that 2020 is still a long way away, but now is the time to take action before the potential for hacks, viruses and data breaches becomes real.
We work with over 180 businesses in the area and are already upgrading their infrastructure to protect their systems, data and company reputation.
Your first step of action is to book a 15 minute call with myself, Jamie, so we can talk through whether your systems will be affected.
