Keep a lookout for these malware traps

Cyber-crime is an ever-evolving threat. And cyber-criminals are constantly attacking your inbox, hoping you’ll have a bad day, click on a bad link, and give them access to everything they need to steal from you.  Remember too that once a hacker has access to your systems on average you wont even release for up to three months as they take this time to try and penetrate as many systems within your network as possible, before they deliver their payload.

But make no mistake, email isn’t the only way cyber-criminals can attack you.

Because of people’s vigilance to email attacks, cyber-criminals are constantly switching it up. Some of the latest attacks are browser based.  What’s a browser I hear you ask?  A browser is software you use to access the internet, such as Google Chrome (the most popular browser) or Microsoft Edge.

This can include fake installs of software. And download links that look like the real deal.  Hackers can also create fake websites that look almost identical to the real website to try and get you to enter your username and password.  As soon as you do, they have you login details and can create havoc.

That’s why it’s important to look out for this type of scam. And have the right security in place to protect you, as it’s sometimes too easy to be tricked.  Training your staff on how to spot these different types of attack is also essential to keeping your business safe.
