One bad email. That’s all it takes…

Email is an essential part of modern business. But it can also be one of the biggest dangers.

Hackers use emails as a way into your systems, and they are getting smarter by the day.  We are all wise enough now to spot an obvious phishing email, but most hackers have moved past that now and it can be incredible hard to spot an email sent from a hacker.

Cybercrime is the number one threat to UK businesses, and hackers WILL take advantage of every mistake you make.

The best way to describe the threat is with something called the one one one rule. It only takes one person to click one bad link on one occasion, and your entire business can be compromised.  You may think that this sounds like an overreaction but believe me when I tell you we have seen this happen to businesses large and small.

Some business owners believe they are too small to be targeted by a hacker, but you must remember that some small businesses don’t invest in robust security systems for their IT equipment, so it’s easy money for a hacker.  If your staff (and even you) aren’t trained in Cyber Security and you don’t have a suite of security services in place a phishing email will soon find its way into your inbox and you won’t even know about it until it is too late.

Your staff send and receive thousands of emails every week. So it’s important to teach them to spot the common signs of fraudulent emails.  Just a short amount of training could potentially save you business thousands, or indeed tens of thousands of pounds.  Once your staff are cyber aware and you have invested in IT security you chance of being hit by a hacker will be greatly reduced.

We can help your staff be more aware of email security. Let’s talk.
