Could your business access an additional £5000 of grant funding?

A couple of weeks ago Simon Clarke MP, Minister for Hosing, Communities and Local Government announced a new £20,000,000 fund for small and medium sized business to help “boost their recovery”.

Small and medium sized businesses will soon be able to access grants between £1,000 – £5,000 for “new equipment, technology and specialist advice”.

The grant will be administered by the local LEP program and each area will receive a minimum of £250,000.  There is no obligation for businesses to contribute financially and will not need to pay the money back as this is a grant.

The grants are designed to help business pay for the expertise, equipment and technology they will need to adapt, recover and rebuild from the effects of the coronavirus.

The minister said:

“We have always said that we would stand behind our businesses and communities as we rebuild following the coronavirus pandemic. This new funding does exactly that.”

“Businesses will be able to use these new grants to pay for the expertise, equipment and technology they need to adapt, recover and rebuild.”

“Small and medium sized businesses are the beating heart of communities; they provide employment and contribute significantly to local economies and we are determined to give them the support they need to continue to thrive.”
